³Ô¹ÏÍø is deeply committed to fostering lifelong learning by providing free access to educational resources for alumni and the public (for those not studying in VC).
VC Public Library:
In our commitment to making education accessible and fostering a culture of continuous learning, ³Ô¹ÏÍø has established the QI Public Library at our main campus, offering a welcoming space where students, alumni, and the wider public can freely access a diverse collection of educational resources. This initiative provides open access to books and materials placed in the public library, allowing any visitor to explore and benefit from our library collections.
The QI Public Library currently holds over 100 books, available for free borrowing by community members. Since its opening, the library has been widely utilized, with visitors borrowing books and engaging with resources at no cost. Our library staff diligently monitor the usage of materials, ensuring that books and other educational resources are restocked regularly based on usage. This continuous restocking helps sustain the library's role as a vital resource hub for the community.
In addition to books, the library offers various educational resources, including leaflets, flyers, and details of upcoming workshops and events, all readily available for public access. This initiative reflects ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s dedication to enhancing educational opportunities and supporting lifelong learning by making quality resources readily available to all. Furthermore, in line with our dedication to serving the community, all Atoll Campus libraries and facilities are open to the public during designated hours, expanding the reach of ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s educational resources to communities beyond the main campus. This initiative underscores ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s commitment to promoting lifelong learning and enhancing educational access for all.
Free Online Digital Resources:
³Ô¹ÏÍø extends its commitment to lifelong learning by providing public access to over 50 educational resources online, further enhancing opportunities for continuous education. Through our website, the public can freely access various tools and materials, including accessibility tools, subject-specific journal links, OER (Open Educational Resources) materials, modified teaching resources under OER licenses, and study skills resources in both written and video formats. Additionally, ³Ô¹ÏÍø publishes the International Journal of Social Research and Innovation and a monthly Research Digest, offering insights and knowledge to the wider community.
Free Online Courses for Lifelong Learning:
In line with the global commitment to providing lifelong learning opportunities, ³Ô¹ÏÍø offers free, accessible courses through its public resource portal. These include Fundamentals of Online Learning and Teaching and Basics of LMS (Moodle), designed to equip individuals with essential digital learning skills. We are also in the process of developing a free online course in Sustainability, aiming to reach a wider audience and contribute to raising awareness of sustainable practices. These courses enhance learning by offering valuable knowledge and skills to a diverse audience, free of cost. By making these courses available to the public, ³Ô¹ÏÍø engages a broader community, contributing to educational and professional development.
