In alignment with its commitment to providing family-friendly workplace policies, ³Ô¹ÏÍø has implemented several childcare support measures designed to aid staff and faculty with parenting responsibilities. This approach recognizes the need for a supportive and balanced work environment that prioritizes both employee well-being and productivity.

Maternity and Paternity Leave Policies: In accordance with the Employment Act of the Maldives, ³Ô¹ÏÍø grants female employees maternity leave of sixty (60) days. This policy is intended to protect the health of both the mother and newborn child and ensure a secure transition back into the workplace.

Childcare Breaks Post-Maternity Leave: Upon completing maternity leave, female employees are entitled to two (2) daily breaks of thirty (30) minutes each to attend to their child’s needs. This entitlement is valid until the child reaches one year of age, enabling parents to care for their children while maintaining work responsibilities.

Extended Parental Leave for Mothers and Fathers: ³Ô¹ÏÍø provides a flexible approach to parental leave post-maternity. After the initial maternity leave, either the mother or father may take unpaid leave for up to one year, based on their preference, if both are employed by the college. This policy encourages shared responsibility between parents and promotes a family-oriented environment.

Flexible Work Arrangements for High-Risk and Early-Stage Pregnancies: Recognizing the need for special accommodations during high-risk or early-stage pregnancies, ³Ô¹ÏÍø offers work-from-home or flexible work arrangements. This approach supports the health and safety of pregnant employees and ensures that they have access to necessary accommodations without compromising their professional commitments.

Non-Discrimination Policy: ³Ô¹ÏÍø implemented a policy of non-discrimination against women, which will further enhance the support provided to women at the institution. This policy aims to safeguard the rights of female employees, including those with childcare responsibilities, ensuring a fair and inclusive work environment.

Break Allowances for Feeding: As part of its leave policy, ³Ô¹ÏÍø allows for a 1-hour and 30-minute break for breastfeeding, enabling mothers to maintain a strong bond with their child while meeting their nutritional needs. This policy demonstrates ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s commitment to supporting its employees' family obligations.

³Ô¹ÏÍø’s range of policies underscores its commitment to a supportive workplace for parents. By providing parental leave, flexible work arrangements, and a forthcoming non-discrimination policy, ³Ô¹ÏÍø ensures that staff and faculty can meet their childcare responsibilities without sacrificing career opportunities or workplace engagement.
