Ali Shareef
Director
Ali Shareef is the Director of the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) at ³Ô¹ÏÍø. He has been working at the college for over 11 years.
Ali Shareef holds a Master of Business Admin...istration degree from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK and has extensive experience in the education sector. Prior to joining ³Ô¹ÏÍø, he worked as a teacher, headmaster, assistant principal, and principal at various schools under the Ministry of Education.
As the Director of the Centre for Foundation Studies, Ali Shareef ensures that the programmes offered at the Centre are implemented efficiently. Also, he monitors and works diligently with the coordinators, lecturers and administrative staff of CFS. Similarly, he ensures that the learning experiences provided are engaging and challenging while providing the students with a safe and positive learning environment. Apart from managing and leading CFS, he is also teaching modules in the areas of business and human resource management.
In addition to his work at ³Ô¹ÏÍø, Ali Shareef is a member of the National Social Sector Council at Maldives National Skills Development Authority (MNSDA). He is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals and to promoting social and economic development in the Maldives.

Aminath Suha
Deputy Dean
Aminath Suha is an experienced educator and academic administrator who currently serves as the Deputy Dean at the Centre for Foundation Studies of ³Ô¹ÏÍø. With eight years of experience at the ...college, she holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of Nottingham, UK. Before joining ³Ô¹ÏÍø, Ms. Suha taught at Jamaluddin School as a primary and qualified secondary school teacher and also worked as a visiting lecturer at ³Ô¹ÏÍø.
Ms. Suha's research interests focus on the intersection of ICT and teaching, and she is currently leading a research project investigating the impact of class size on students' learning outcomes. She is also actively involved in teaching and course development, currently teaching the Academic Writing and Research Skills module and coordinating various programs, including Certificate 4 in Creative Arts and Design and Certificate 3 in English for Social Communication. Additionally, she played a significant role in developing the BA in Early Childhood Education program.
Ms. Suha and her colleagues recently published a paper titled "Challenges and Affordances of Hybrid Learning: A Pilot Study from the Perspective of Teachers and Students at College Foundation Level" (2022). She is also an ESOL examiner at the University of Cambridge and has affiliations with various academic institutions. Outside of her professional work, Ms. Suha enjoys reading and traveling.

Fathimath Shifaza
Lecturer
Fathimath Shifaza is an experienced lecturer at the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) with 5 years of dedicated service to ³Ô¹ÏÍø. She holds a Master of Leadership and Management in Education... from the University of Newcastle, Australia, and previously worked as a Teacher Educator Coordinator at the National Institute of Education, and as a Graduate Teacher at Iskandhar School and Aminiya School.
Shifaza's passion for research is reflected in her latest publication, "Challenges and Affordances of Hybrid Learning: A Pilot Study from the Perspective of Teachers and Students at College Foundation Level (2022)", which explores the impact of technology on education. Her research interests include educational technology and ICT in education, tertiary education, teacher training, mental health, well-being, and educational leadership and management.
Currently, Shifaza is conducting a mixed-method study on the impact of class size on students' learning outcomes, from the perspective of teachers and students at College Foundation Studies. As a lecturer, she teaches various modules, including English Proficiency 1, Introduction to Educational Studies, English for Academic Purposes, and English for Advanced Studies.
Shifaza also serves as the coordinator for several programs, including Foundation in Psychology, Foundation in Teaching, University Preparation Programme, and Pre-Masters Programme. In addition, she is affiliated with the University of Newcastle, Australia Alumni, and Australia Awards Alumni.

Salavutheen Noortheen
Lecturer
Mr. Salavutheen Noortheen is a Lecturer and Coordinator for ICT at the Center for Foundation Studies. He holds a Masters of Science in Information Technology and E-commerce from Manonmanium Sundaranar... University and has extensive experience teaching computer science at primary, secondary and Tertiary levels.
Salavutheen's research interests are focused on Education and development, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Securities, and nanotechnology. He has presented/published conference papers on the topic "Factors influencing hybrid teaching from a learning perspective", and "Approach on enhancing the skills and PD's scope of Computer & IT graduates".
Currently, Salavutheen is working on a research project on the Evolution of Engineering Education, Conservation of energy. Future projects planned in Artificial Intelligence. As a lecturer, he is responsible for teaching several modules, including Essentials of Computing, Management Information System, ICT for Higher Education, Intro to Database and System Security, and PC Competence for Academic Writing and Research Skills.
Salavutheen also coordinates various ICT programs, including Introduction to User Interface Design, Fundamentals of Info Technology, Computer Hardware and Networking, and Intro to Database and System Security. He is currently working on the development of a Certificate 4 in the Information Technology program, which includes four IT modules: Fundamentals of Information Systems, Web Technology, Principles of Programming, and Networks and Cloud Computing.
With his extensive knowledge of ICT and his passion for teaching, Salavutheen is a valuable member of the Center for Foundation Studies staff. His dedication to the development of new courses and programs ensures that students receive the most up-to-date and relevant education in the field of ICT.

Lam'ath Mohamed
Associate Lecturer
Ms. Lam’ath Mohamed is an Associate Lecturer in the Centre for Foundation Studies at ³Ô¹ÏÍø, where she has been working for over five years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and... Communication from Maldives National University and is committed to helping students develop their language and communication skills.
Lam’ath is a versatile educator and has taught a range of modules, including Academic Writing and Research Skills, Communication Skills and Relationship-Building, and English for Effective Communication. She is passionate about empowering students to communicate effectively and build strong relationships in both their personal and professional lives.
In addition to teaching, Lam’ath is also involved in coordinating several programs at ³Ô¹ÏÍø, including National Certificate 3 courses in Water Sports, Lifeguarding, Cashiering, Airport Representative Services, Ticketing and Reservations, Inventory Management, and Tour Guiding, as well as a Certificate 3 course in Web Design.
Lam’ath is an active researcher and has recently published a paper on the challenges and affordances of hybrid learning from the perspective of teachers and students at the college foundation level. She is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest research in her field and regularly attends conferences, trainings, workshops, and seminars. Most recently, she attended the International Conference on Social Research and Innovation in 2022.
She believes that learning is a lifelong journey and is committed to helping students reach their full potential both inside and outside of the classroom.
