This programme is taught by qualified lecturers, who provide guidance and support. It focused on building the confidence to teach secondary classes through both content and pedagogical knowledge. In this programme, the modules focus on teaching and learning to develop 21st century skills for teachers. It also includes a research component specific to teaching and learning the English language. Students can choose to study this programme online or on campus.
Entry Criteria
2 passes in A Level/HSC (At GCE A/L, a pass is considered E and above. HSC pass is considered C and above.) OR
Attainment of a Level 4 qualification in a related field OR
Attainment of a Level 4 Foundation Study Programme approved for the specific Diploma programme

Upon successful completion of this programme participants will be able to:Â
Demonstrate the essential content knowledge and practical classroom skills to perform competently as a critically reflective English language teacher
Develops a firm foundation of language, literacy and applied linguistics
Inculcate understanding and application of Second Language teaching approaches
Demonstrate a broad understanding of the main theories, concepts and principles of education, curriculum and pedagogy; and integrate them into a teaching environment
Apply specialised skills and professional practices to teaching environments where there is a degree of unpredictability
Use professional-level insights to evaluate and synthesize solutions to address issues related to secondary and higher secondary level teaching
Work autonomously to undertake responsibilities at the professional level in teaching and leadership and use constructive criticism
Implement an ongoing program of self-education appropriate to their personal and professional needs
