Certificate IV in Nursing is the foundation program to enter the field of Nursing. This program helps to provide compassionate care to individual who are not able to fully care for themselves. The student will study generic issues in a supportive and multi- professional environment to build necessary skills, knowledge and practice in any health care setting. Through this programme ³Ô¹ÏÍø aims to provide generic knowledge and skills to the participants and instill good moral values in their nursing practice. The programme facilitates to enhance the growth and development of nurses and the nursing profession to meet the current needs and developments.
General Entry Criteria
Three passes (minimum C grade) in GCE O' Level or equivalent excluding Dhivehi and Islam.

Upon successful completion of this programme participants will be able to;
Apply and demonstrate generic knowledge in the sciences and human sciences.
Apply and demonstrate generic knowledge in nursing art and science, focusing on interpersonal therapeutic communication, applying the nursing process in common and simple health problems for nursing clients across their life-span and across health-illness issues.
Demonstrate simple knowledge-based clinical skills in caring for clients with common and simple health problems.
Observe and document clients’ health, physical condition and well-being.
Provide compassionate care to individuals, and demonstrate sensitivity to clients’ emotional, social and mental health needs.
Comply with infection control practices and standards of practice for nursing assistants.
Communicate effectively with nursing clients, other nurses, physicians and other health care providers.
Demonstrate professional behaviour and work ethics.
Critically reflect on own practice and commit to self-directed learning.
