Accessibility Tools and Resources for Persons with Visual Impairments

  • NVDA screen reader

  • Enabling Speak: text-to-speech feature of Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and OneNote

  • ChromeVox extension for Chrome bowser which gives voice to Chrome

  • Bookshare is an Accessible Online Library for people with print disabilities. You can download free books, Braille books, and tools for people who are blind or visually impaired.

This service is only free to US students, otherwise it's $50 per year.

  • Prizmo Go (IOS) lets you quickly grab text with the camera. After text is recognized, you can interact with it in many useful ways.

  • Capti Voice text to speech IOS app allows you to listen to documents, news, books, etc. It will improve your productivity and make your reading more enjoyable.
