Studies for May 2019 semester commenced with the Welcoming and Orientation Session for May 2019. The Rector of ³Ô¹ÏÍø, Dr. Ahmed Anwar welcomed the new students and delivered a passionate and informative speech.In this session, certificates were awarded to students who received the ³Ô¹ÏÍø Scholarship for the year 2019 as well. Moreover, the ³Ô¹ÏÍø Alumni Association gave a presentation about student experiences in ³Ô¹ÏÍø. In addition, applications for the ³Ô¹ÏÍø Student Ambassador for 2019 was launched in this session.Furthermore, representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education provided information about the Government Free First Degree Scheme for the students. The new semester offered the opportunity to join 102 different courses from Certificate level 1 to Master's Degree programmes in different fields, including Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Management, Teaching, Education, Sharia, Law, Islam, Quran, Human Resource Management, Accounting, Public Health, Nursing, ACCA, Research, and Marine Studies.Among these, there are 13 Master's programmes, 6 Postgraduate Diploma/Certificate programmes, 21 Degree programmes, 20 Diploma programmes, 13 Certificate level 4 (Degree Foundation) programmes, 13 Certificate level 3 programmes, 2 Certificate level 2 programmes and 1 Certificate level 1 programme, as well as 8 programmes in Marine Studies.In addition to ³Ô¹ÏÍø's own programmes, these include Master's and Degree programmes from the prestigious university of the UK, University of the West of England.Besides studies commencing at the QI campus in Male', studies will be commencing at ³Ô¹ÏÍø Hithadhoo campus, ³Ô¹ÏÍø Naifaru campus, ³Ô¹ÏÍø Addu campus, ³Ô¹ÏÍø Kulhudhuffushi campus, ³Ô¹ÏÍø Lakeside campus (Sh. Fonadhoo), ³Ô¹ÏÍø L. Gan Campus, ³Ô¹ÏÍø Guraidhoo Campus and in ³Ô¹ÏÍø Mahibadhoo campus. Programmes will also commence in islands with ³Ô¹ÏÍø learning centres as well, namely: HA. Hoarafhushi, R. Alifushi, R. Maakurath, B. Eydhafushi, AA. Ukulhas, ADh. Maamigili, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, N. Kendhokulhudhoo, F. Nilandhoo, HA. Dhihdhoo, B. Thulhaadhoo, Sh. Komandoo, R. Ungoofaaru, GA. Villingilli, and GDh. Gadhdhoo.Students will be able to make payments easily in monthly instalment basis, which is being practiced since September 2017. In addition, the students have the opportunity to study all the Degree Programs offered in ³Ô¹ÏÍø, through the Free First Degree Scheme by the government.
