³Ô¹ÏÍø held an event for the launching of two new books by Senior Curriculum Developer for the Institute for Academic Development at ³Ô¹ÏÍø, Ahmed Shakir. The chief guest of the event, Speaker of Parliament, Honorable Abdul Raheem Abdulla, launched the books and noted the importance of the two books for local Maldivian history. The first book, titled ‘Usthaazunnaai Aalimun, Udhabaaun’aai Shaairun’ highlights the significant contributions of numerous scholars and academics to the Maldives. At a critical time, when the Maldives required their expertise the most, these individuals dedicated their time and efforts selflessly for the advancement of religion and the nation. Their sacrifices have yielded considerable benefits and increased awareness, demonstrating their profound impact on the country. The second book, ‘Dhivehi Rajjeyge Siyaasee Thaarihu’ explores the rich yet often unclear history of the Maldives, noting that access to historical accounts has been limited. It aims to shed light on Maldivian history by presenting as much information as possible.
